Mythology of Vaastu Shashtra
Vaastu Shashtra can also be looked upon as a science, and there are a number of scientific evidences to cross prove them, but let us know what mythology says about it.
Matsya Purana speaks about origination of Vaastu purusha.
Lord Shiva engaged himself in a fierce battle and started sweating. A spirit originated form this sweet. This spirit was very hungry and thirsty. He penanced. He pleased Lord Shiva. He requested Shiva, sought permission to eat all the three worlds. Lord Shiva, the Bole Naath, satisfied with the penance, blessed him. All Gods feared. They assembled together. They laid the demon down facing ground and sat on him. This is the resting position of the Daemon.
The figure shows the resting position of key Gods/Deities.
The daemon, now becomes a God. The Vaastu Purusha. All the Gods blessed Vaastu Purusha. Gave Him the right to tease and trouble people who do not give offerings to him before living on a given property.
Since then, Vaastu Purusha lives in every place for dwelling. The owner of that plot/property is responsible to please the Vaastu Purusha.
North is the direction of Kuber, the wealth God, and hence is the direction for money. East is the direction of Sun and hence would bring in prosperity. South is the direction of Yam. Yam is related to Death and hence not a good direction. In the center lies Brahma, the heart and hence it is recommended to keep it open and not blocked.
We would see more detail into this later one.
